MY PRACTICE
Leisel Vella is a Melbourne based emerging Fashion designer, recently graduated from a Bachelor of Design (Fashion) (Honours) at RMIT University.
She is a skilled creative with experience in both Melbourne, Sydney and London across diverse areas of design, production and fashion events.
Inspired by her home country of Australia Leisel's aesthetic is contemporary, romantic and playful with elements of nature running through. Her practice draws from the representation of the female body and its interaction with fashion. She has a long held relationship with garment construction, having grown up sewing and patternmaking from a very early age. She hopes of advancing her career in the field of fashion in the future through a design oriented area, where she can work to challenge existing ideals.
